Don't Quit

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will, when the road you are trudging seems all uphill, when the funds are low and debts are high; and you want to smile, but you have to sigh. When care is pressing you down a bit, rest if you must, but don’t you quit.

Life is queer with it’s twists and turns, as everyone of us sometimes learns; and many a fellow turns about, when he might have won had he stuck it out.

Don’t give up though the pace seems slow. You may succeed with another blow. Often the goal is nearer than it seems to a faint and faltering man; often the struggler has given up, when he might have captured the victor’s cup! And he learned too late when the night came down, how close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out. The silver tint of the clouds of doubt: and you never can tell how close you are; it may be near when it seems afar. So stick to the fight, when you are hardest hit. It’s when things seem worse that you must not quit.        author unknown

Psalm 121

I lift up my eyes to the hills - where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

Most of your problems are gifts in disguise. You learn something from each experience. The Psalmist seems to sing his soul to quietness and peace by looking from present cares to the high hills of God, and cheers his drooping spirit by remembering how amid all the earth-changes, the everlasting hills abide.

Oh to lose the downward look which has grown upon us by the pressures of life’s cares! The voice calls continually, "Lift up your head, for your redemption draweth nigh!"      by Oh to lose the downward look which has grown upon us by the pressures of life’s cares! Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God.  Psalm 42

Be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.
2 Chronicles 15:7

A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people. Galatians 6:9

Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31

Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28

There is a time for laughter, and there is a time for tears; for each of us have happy days and days when grief appears. But when we have our troubles just as when we’re bright and gay, we should always remember that this too, will pass away. Keep on keeping on.

If the day looks kinda gloomy, and your chances kinda slim, if the situation puzzles, and your prospects awful grim, and perplexities keep pressing ’til all hope is nearly gone. Just bristle up and grit your teeth.  Keep on keeping on.
