"fear not" from the
Bible book Isaiah
In the
new year ahead many of us will face challenges that are greater than
any we have ever known.
Fear
Not.....For
I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand
and says to you, "Do not fear; I will help
you." Isaiah 41:13
Many
hearts will ache from the loss of loved ones or from illness that
seems to have no cure.
Fear Not.....For
I have not forgotten you. See, I have engraved you on
the palm of my hand. Isaiah 49:16
At
times we may feel totally alone.
Fear Not......For
I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are
mine. Do not be afraid, for I am with
you. Isaiah 43:5
Others
may come upon hardship that takes all of their strength.
Fear Not.....For
I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am you God. I
will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you
with my righteous right hand. Isaiah
41:10
Even though many circumstances
will come our way this year, there is One that we can lean upon.
His name is Jesus. In him, God became man and He is acquainted
with our griefs and sorrows. Let us seek our God and pray for He
cares for us.
This is what the Lord says-
Israel's King and Redeemer, the
Lord Almighty: I am the first and I am the last; Apart
from me there is no other God. Do not tremble, do not be
afraid.....
Is there any God besides me? No, there is no other Rock; I
know not one. Isaiah 44:8
Have
Faith!
Jesus got into the boat and his disciples followed
him. Without warning, a furious storm came up on the
lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus
was sleeping. The disciples went and woke him, saying,
"Lord, save us! We're going to drown!"
He replied, "You of little faith, why are you so
afraid?" Then he got up and rebuked the winds and
the waves, and it was completely calm.
The men were amazed and asked, :What kind of man is this:
Even the winds and the waves obey Him!" Matthew
8:23
Often
our lives will be calm, them suddenly a difficulty will
arise that seems to overwhelm us. But let us remember
that Jesus is near. He dwells in our hearts by
faith. Ephesians 3:17 Let us take courage and
have faith for we do not walk alone. Our God can calm
the raging storms and gibe us peace in the midst of trial.
Be
strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified,
for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never
leave you nor forsake you. Deuteronomy 31:6
